The chamfer tool creates an edge between the selected lines, with the length chosen by the user.
The new line is built using a helper circle, whose radius is given by:
Because we’re using the line slopes to calculate the new radius, the four points are transformed to 2D points on the sketch plane before the calculation is done and then transformed back to 3D points.
It’s possible to add a chamfer between lines that form a right angle:
